Advice to Baruch College

The fitness center and computer labs are often filled during peak hours which causes a lot of people to wait in line for a spot.  We could use new media in the form of a smartphone application that updates the capacity of the fitness center and computer labs frequently.  People who have the application would know if there is an seat open in the computer lab or an unused locker.  The application could possibly improve the wait time and reduce congestion.

  1. that would be helpful, definitely. My friend studies at the library most of the time because her laptop broke and right now she cannot afford a new one (since the tuition went up ;)) She always complains that all the computers are taken when she gets there.

  2. An app would be a great idea, especially for the computer labs in the VC building since that is always packed and very difficult to find a spot. Most times I just give up and try to manage on my phone the best I can.

  3. That does sound like a good idea, but probably really hard to keep up with the amount of turnover in the library etc. An app that could somehow make blackboard into a usable format on our phones would be a huge help
